Myles Does My Hair
Myles is a highly skilled hair stylist with over 20 years of experience, having embarked on his hair journey in grade 10. He has a deep passion for creating stunning looks with vivid hair colors, beautiful blondes, and gorgeous curly hairstyles. Whether you're looking for a fresh perm, a sleek fade, or any other hairstyle, Myles is equipped with the expertise to fulfill your vision. He has trained extensively in various hair techniques, including those for different ethnic types, ensuring that he can expertly cut and color all hair types with success. Believing in equality within the hair, Myles has adopted a genderless pricing model, making his services accessible to everyone. He is a proud supporter of the 2SLGBTQAI+ community, actively through donations and proudly marching in pride events as a gay married man. Myles is also an avid supporter of Irish and Scottish dance and culture, serving as a year-long sponsor of Acclaim Celtic Dancers Nanaimo. In his free time, Myles enjoys indulging in video gaming, reading Fantasy novels, manga and anime, and engaging epic adventures with Dungeons & Dragons. His diverse interests and commitment to inclusivity make him a unique and dedicated stylist ready to bring your hair dreams to life!

Master Esthetician
Desirée is a 20+ year experienced Master Esthetician and Nail Technician specializing in a holistic approach to diabetic hand and foot care with certification in Pedology. She grew up on Vancouver Island and started her career in 2000 by attending Esthetics School in beautiful Duncan, BC. In 2005, she completed an additional certification in Nail Technology in Victoria BC where she owned and operated a spa for over 10 years. Desirée is also highly skilled and trained in the art of bridal and glamorous special event makeup application, and has worked in many top salons and spas on Vancouver Island.
Desirée is enthusiastic about Nanaimo’s diverse theatre and arts community. She is a proud supporter of local musicians, dancers entertainers and greatly enjoys a variety of performances held in our local theatres across Vancouver Island in her spare time, she also teaches Highland dance to her daughter carrying a tradition from her childhood
In recent years, Desirée has become increasingly passionate about the Ayurvedic journey towards overall wellness derived from hot and cold stone, as well as massage techniques within facials and full body relaxation massage. She is excited to bring many new amazing techniques to A Vivid Edge Salon & Spa!
Little Cullen is Myles' Adoptive Nephew
with a heavy heart we want to share the story of a courageous 6-year-old boy named Cullen the son of a USA Veteran and a loving mother who stays home caring for Cullen and his sister. Cullen has been diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia, a rare and life-threatening blood disorder Aplastic anemia is a condition that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells. The condition leaves you fatigued and more prone to infections and uncontrolled bleeding. Which has weakened his immune system and left him in need of a bone marrow transplant, without a bonemarrow transplant he will unfortunately have on average 5 years to live.
